IPL 2016: Upset MS Dhoni slams new-ball bowlers for Pune's loss against Gujarat

After losing to Gujarat Lions (GL) despite scoring a huge total, Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) skipper MS Dhoni lambasted his new-ball bowlers for not putting up a good show.

RPS scored 195 for 3, thanks to Steve Smith 54-ball 101. However, they were not able to defend a big total against GL and this forced Dhoni to slam his bowlers.

Pune Supergiants' season has actually been marred by injuries to two of the in-form players -- Faf du Plessis and Kevin Pietersen -- but the side's bowling, barring the two wins where bowlers had the upper hand, has looked weak.

RPS skipper Suresh Raina, who had played under Dhoni in the previous editions of the IPL, credited his openers Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith for doing the damage in the powerplay.
