Google had revealed in October that Austin, Texas will get the Fiber offering of the company in November. Now the company has come up with a preview of the pricing which the residents will be required to pay after its arrival in the city.
The previews show the expected free basic Internet option and the anticipated Gigabit plan. The subscribers will be required to pay USD 70 per month. The company has also decided to offer an Internet + TV service option through Fiber. This service will be priced at USD 130 monthly.
Google has revealed the information on its Google+ Fiber page. Under the plans, residents will be able to get up to 5Mbps download speeds and 1Mbps upload speeds for free. The users will have to pay a USD 300 construction fee, which can be made all at once or can be made as a $25 monthly payment for the first 12 months of service.
The construction fee will not be charged from those who will use one of the Gigabit plans. The Gigabit-speed Internet only plan is priced at $70 per month, and includes free hardware for the first year of service, as does the $130/month Gigabit Internet + TV subscription (the construction fee is also waived for this plan).
