Actress Esha Deol and her husband Bharat Takhtani, who welcomed a baby girl on October 20, have named their newborn daughter Radhya. Radhya, the couple's first child, was brought home on Monday afternoon.
Her name Radhya has been derived from Goddess Radha, read a statement issued on behalf of the family. "We are very happy to announce that our daughter will be named as Radhya Takhtani. The name has been jointly decided by Esha and me," Bharat Takhtani said.
A formal naming ceremony will be held in a week's time. Esha and Bharat have been married for over five years now.
Esha, Bharat and Radhya were pictured outside the hospital when they took the baby home.
Esha, 35, is the daughter of star couple Hema Malini and Dharmendra. She also has a younger sister Ahana, who is married to businessman Vaibhav Vohra and the couple together have a two-year-old son Darien.
Hema Malini, who has become a grandmother for the second time, also shared the news on Twitter and wrote, "Fri Oct 20 was a special & wonderful day! Esha was blessed with a beautiful baby girl & my cup of happiness is full. Ab ghar par Lakshmiji aagayi."
Esha's baby shower was held twice in August. The first ceremony was as per the Sindhi traditions and the second baby shower was hosted by her sister Ahana.
Esha Deol made her Bollywood debut in 2002 with Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe. She is the stars of films such as Dhoom, Yuva, No Entry and Dus. 2015's Kill Them Young was her last Hindi film. She has also co-hosted reality show Roadies X2.
