Don Abdul Latif's son sues Shah Rukh Khan and others over 'Raees'

A local court on Thursday released notices to Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, his wife Gauri Khan, actor Farhan Akhtar, director Rahul Dholakia and producer Ritesh Sidhwani together with three film making companies in reply to a Rs 101-crore defamation suit filed against the film 'Raees' by Mushtaq Sheikh, the son of former underworld don Abdul Latif.

Sheikh demanded a stay on the release of the film which features Shah Rukh Khan, and on the promos, trailers, and publication of news articles on the ground that the film presents his father, who had 'high reputation' in society, in a bad light.

Sheikh claimed the film could bring a bad reputation to his family because the writer, director, actor and producer of the film did not do as promised to project Abdul Latif in proper perspective.

Sheikh said, "Looking at the character played by Khan, it is crystal clear that his character in the film is based on the life of Latif."
