The order on the bail plea of Rajesh and Nupur Talwar in the criminal appeal filed by them in Aarushi Talwar murder case has been reserved by Allahabad High Court on Friday.
A division bench comprising Justice Rakesh Tiwari and Justice Anil Kumar Agarwal passed the judgment after hearing counsel for the appellant and CBI counsel.
In their appeals, the dentist couple has challenged the life imprisonment awarded to them by a CBI court in Ghaziabad for killing their teenage daughter and domestic help Hemraj.
The duo was awarded life imprisonment on November 26, 2013. In their fresh application, the dup claimed that there was no direct evidence against them but the court convicted them and awarded life imprisonment without considering the circumstantial evidence available on record.
The couple also asserted that a closure report was earlier filed by the CBI in this case too.
The closure report was however rejected by the CBI court in Ghaziabad and the CBI once again resumed its probe.
Aarushi was found murdered in her Ghaziabad house at night on May 15, 2008 and an FIR in this regard was lodged by her mother Nupur Talwar.
