Union Minister P Chidambaram's son Karti was on the Congress list for Lok Sabha candidates that was announced Thursday night.
Chidambaram himself has decided not to contest Lok Sabha election and so his constituency Sivaganga in Tamil Nadu has gone to his son.
Also another Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has been fielded from Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir.
Commenting on his father's decision to not contest election, Karti Chidambaram said,"my father has contested nine elections and thought it is time to give way. He is definitely not retiring from politics."
The list announced last night had 50 Congress Lok Sabha candidates. With the list Congress has decided on the remaining two Lok Sabha seats of Delhi as well fielding sitting MPs Mahabal Mishra and Ramesh Kumar from West Delhi and South Delhi respectively.
The party has already nominated sitting MPs in five other seats of Delhi.
Another interesting nomination is AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh's brother Laxman Singh who has been fielded from Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh from where Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj is the sitting BJP MP.
Digvijay's son in-law Paranjayaditya Singh Parmar has been dropped as a candidate from Panchamahal seat in Gujarat, replaced by Ramsingh Parmar.
