The life ban on three Rajasthan Royals (RR) players S. Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan would not be lifted, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said on Wednesday.
On July 25, a Delhi trial court dropped all charges against these players and 33 others in connection with the Indian Premier League (IPL) betting and spot fixing scandal that rocked the Twenty20 tournament in 2013.
BCCI secretary, Anurag Thakur, said "The earlier decision of BCCI's disciplinary committee ban on this case will stay. Disciplinary proceedings are different, criminal proceedings are different."
Currently, Sreesanth and Chavan are serving life bans imposed on them by BCCI while Chandila's case is still awaiting a decision.
