Bajirao Mastani: Ranveer-Deepika's film becomes target of Shiv Sena

Bajirao Mastani: Ranveer-Deepika's film becomes target of Shiv Sena - There is fresh trouble for filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his film 'Bajirao Mastani' starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. After the descendants of both Bajirao and Mastani objecting to the wrongful depiction of their ancestors in the film, Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik has raised objections over lyrics and scenes in the movie.

On the other hand, in a letter written to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, BJP MLA from Pune Medha Kulkarni has asked for a review of the movie from the historians.

Songs in the film have clearly perverted the history of Bajirao Peshwa of Pune. This is a crime against Maharashtra's history and the film must undergo the scrutiny of historians before its release, Kulkarni said.

The descendants felt it was a vulgar display of women in Deepika and Priyanka's song 'Pinga.' UdaySinh, who is a descendant of Bajirao, has raised the point that they are only shown one aspect of the film.

Mastani's descendants have raised objections against the Bajirao Mastani's popular dialogue - Bajirao ne Mastani se mohabbat ki hai, aiyashi nahi. Both the families have asked for a different screening of the movie for them, but Bhansali has not yet responded to their request.
