Baahubali 2 has earned its name in box office history with the highest ever opening for a Hindi-dubbed film.
The nation was gripped with Baahubali fever, and with the release of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, the wait is finally over. Fans couldn't wait to know the answer to why Kattappa killed Baahubali, and tickets of the film were sold out days in advance.
If you thought The Beginning set new records for a Hindi-dubbed film, Baahubali 2 is estimated to have made over Rs 55 crore on the opening day, the highest-ever for a Hindi film. And this is just in one language.
Baahubali 2 also received a phenomenal response in Tamil and Telugu, with the police having to impose Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (Unlawful Assembly) and even lathi-charge to control crowds going berserk. The film released across a whopping 6500 screens in India.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, directed by SS Rajamouli, tells the story of Amarendra Baahubali (Prabhas) and the circumstances that led to his death. It also revolves around how Mahendra Baahubali (also played by Prabhas) avenges the humiliation of his mother Devasena (Anushka Shetty) at the hands of the tyrant Bhallaladeva (Rana Daggubati).
Baahubali 2 has received a thumbs up from critics as well as the audience. With the film smashing all records on a non-holiday, we can only wait and watch how much the film makes over the weekend.
