Apple iPhone 8 bezel-less design confirmed? To feature vertical dual cameras

The final design of the much anticipated smartphone on 2017 as well as most leaked iPhone ever, iPhone 8, has now been reportedly 'confirmed'. The smartphone is set to feature a radical new bezel-less design with an edge-to-edge display that will reportedly have the best screen to body ratio in the market.

Also rumours suggest the iPhone 8 will come with an OLED display, wireless charging, 3D cameras and more.

Now Forbes claims to have 'confirmed' what the new iPhone 8 or iPhone Edition will look like. The website has obtained CAD files for the iPhone 8 via case designer Nodus's supply chains and designed renders on the basis of those files. The renders confirm the fact that Apple is in fact going to emulate Samsung and opt for a near bezel-less design for the iPhone 8 with an edge-to-edge display.

The images suggest the iPhone 8 coming with an 5.8-inch OLED display with a 'notch' or cutout at the top for the sensors and front facing camera similar to the implementation found on Andy Rubin's delayed Essential-PH1 smartphone.

The report also points towards a vertical dual camera setup on the back which is rumoured to come with certain AR, 3D sensing and depth of field features.

The report also 'confirms' that Apple will stick to a lightning port for charging and data and transfer in the iPhone 8 with no switch to USB-C forthcoming. The 3.5mm headphone jack will not be making a grand comeback either.

One of the most controversial elements of the iPhone has been regarding the location of the Touch ID sensor. While rumours point towards Apple embedding the sensor underneath the display, many reports indicate that the company is facing serious yield issues and delays in implementing the radical technology.

The Forbes report introduces a completely new theory. In their render, the power button is almost double the size as before and the website speculates that Apple can follow a Sony like implementation and embed the fingerprint sensor into the power button. Apple has already been granted a patent for this.

Express.co.uk speculates that the iPhone 8 will launch either on Wednesday 6 or Wednesday September 13, 2017. Along with the redesign, the iPhone 8 is expected to come with a TrueTone OLED display, 3D face recognition, an iris scanner, wireless charging, a better screen to body ratio than the Galaxy S8 and a smart connector for accessories such as VR headsets.
