Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan's appointment as brand ambassador for the 'Incredible India' campaign is reportedly on hold, with the report coming days after the actor's name emerged in connection with the Panama Papers.
Though, there has been no official confirmation, some reports pointed that Bachchan's alleged links to two shipping firms registered in the tax haven had put his selection under a cloud.
Official sources said no decision had been taken yet, and were reluctant to link Bachchan's selection to the Panama Papers controversy pertaining to leaks about Indians with offshore accounts.
After Aamir Khan was ousted from the Incredible India campaign, it was said that Bachchan was going to take over.
But now, the government has delayed the process of signing the actor as the brand ambassador of Atulya Bharat as his name is a part of the Panama Papers leak.
